CALANA DISTRICT Calana, a countryside district, capital of the same name, is located in Yungas region 17 km from the city, located 850 meters of sea level, Its climate is mild, dry and stable, the village is surrounded by picturesque countryside and there are plenty of trees and various vegetables. beside the town is the Caplina river. In the ancient temple of colonial bill, is venerated image of the "Virgen del rosario". About the name of Calana, (voices Aymara word derived from "Kaala hana" meaning "two" and "divide".
