MUSEUM
It's located in Pocollay district, in front of Peru park, on a ground
composed of gravel and boulders.
The museum opening soon to outline what types of tombs and objects recovered
from them in addition to other archaeological samples from the region of
Tacna in two exhibition rooms called "Sala peañas" and "Sala regional".
Excavation work started in 1981-1982 rescuing 56 graves, they are classified
as pits and cists.
The contexts were generally composed of a body in a flexed position and
wrapped in simple cloth associated with ceramics, agricultural implements,
textiles, food products of the valley, marine products among others.
Its cultural lineage, relates to the period of Late Regional Developments
(1,000-1445 years A.C.) and Inca era, even some objects or cultural materials
dating from the early colonial.
